The New Moon and Our Cycles, Creativity, Women’s Health, New Beginnings and Letting Go


Tonight we have a New Moon. When the moon goes into darkness, almost to rest and be peaceful within herself. It too is a time for us (especially women) to look inward and contemplate intuitively our wants, dreams and desires. It is also a peaceful time where we need rest, relaxation, peace in our lives and simplicity. That feeling of being cozy on a winters night, wrapped in a blanket in front of the warm glow of a fireplace while we sip hot cocoa is the vision I get. We want deep nurturing and deep nourishment and to let our bodies go through their monthly cycle in peace.

Find time tonight (and any day the new moon falls on) to rest, nourish and nurture yourself and go inward. I think you will find it deeply rewarding.

I read that the new moon is a time for us to let things go. [I apologize. Unfortunately this reference escapes me as it was so long ago but if anyone knows what author and/or book, please email me and I will reference it asap. It could be Doreen Virtue, Sonia Choquette or another spiritual teacher.] The said when the moon goes into darkness it is our time to release what no longer serves our highest good and start the new moon cycle with less energetic weight on us. I read that we need to visualize the moon and her spirit, taking everything we want to let go of and watch it drift away with her. And then we wake up and start fresh – a new beginning – in the morning. And we can do this every new moon.

I am not saying we have to wait for a new moon to let things go. This is something we can do at any time. But if we do it the night before or the night of a new moon, it ends up being carried stronger. The energy for it is stronger.

Dr. Christine Northrup tells us about how we as women are governed by the moon and how strong our intuitions really are. As females we have so much intuition and energy for healing and all kinds of creative and spiritual work. It lies in all of us (men too) but as women, this is a big part of our natural being. A beautiful part of us that lights our spirit. She also talks about how our menstrual cycle is governed by the moon and how our cycle usually starts around the time of the new moon. I find that incredibly interesting, especially in correlation with what I channeled above. That time of deep inward nourishment and contemplation to be left in peace with ourselves and also having our monthly cycle can be very spiritual and frankly, awesome.

I went to a Naturopathic Physician at the Bamboo Clinic in Brookline, MA (has since moved to Oregon) back in 2006 who was right about everything (more on that in a different post), and recently I looked into something she told me to do but I never tried it until recently.

I searched online for it without knowing its exact term and I am thankful that there are ND’s on the internet these days and that they share this information. It is called “Seed Cycling”. We take specific oils and eat specific seeds during specific times of the lunar cycle to balance our hormones and get our body into a good hormone rhythm. One ND, that I reference below, says it can take 4 cycles before you notice a difference.

I have tried taking fish oil and found it not only has lowered my lipid panel (cholesterol, trigs, etc.) but I find I am calmer when I take it. I didn’t know it did that, but I guess it does. And it wasn’t until after I started it that I read about its anti-anxiety affects from a Prevention Guide on Anxiety.

Personally, I tried some seed cycling but upon discussing it with my doctor and the hormone imbalances I have with regards to the endometriosis we nixed the Evening Primrose oil and kept only fish oil. Now I am only taking fish oil and I have also nixed flaxseeds. I will go into further detail about why in another post.

But for now, remember that tonight is a New Moon. It could be the start of your cycle, the time to let something go, the start of a new beginning, the time to gain more hormonal balance, to go deeper intuitively within our beings and more.

The new blog is beautiful, elegant and helpful. This particular segment is brilliant. Congrats.

Watching current events unfold, it seems to me we need a central prayer of peace to focus around. Sometimes, it feels like I don’t know what prayer is the right prayer or I think if we all could just focus on the same image of peace we could amplify our desire for it and better manifest it. Humans so easily pray for the thing they don’t want but have a harder time wording a prayer in the affirmative.

So, what do,the guides say is the most effective, calming and hopeful way to pray for and achieve a world where peace is a number one goal?

A prayer for peace from the guides:

Channeled this evening: “Dear Guides, I am effectively praying for peace in the world. Not just peace for my life or for my neighbors, but peace for everyone all around the world. It is important to me that peace, love, positive intentions and healing come to every soul and being on our planet – for we all need it. I ask for and send, love, peace, positive intentions, and healing now. I visualize a world that is balanced and at peace, where suffering has become a worry of the past and it is something we no longer experience. I pray for everyone to have peace and balance – not just me, but the world. Om Mani Padme Hum.

In this day and age, with so much going on, sometimes we need to just sit, take a deep breath, close our eyes, and visualize a world where people are helping others. -Where people are sending positive thoughts and images (visualizations) and more – out to the universe.

Manifesting is something we do all the time; mostly through thoughts and actions but also through visualizations.
There is no right or wrong way to pray. All prayers no matter how they are done, count equally. Whatever is most comfortable for you is what you need to do. And when you find that you want to change the world – think of how you want to do it – not how you think it should be done.

Often times we underestimate our own power. But through manifesting we can see the fruit of our thoughts and actions.

If you want to manifest peace, think of things that are peaceful. Visualize your world as peaceful. Visualize the image of peace.

The same goes for calm and relaxation, or anything you want to manifest.

Thoughts and knowing are important. If you don’t know what you want then how are you going to manifest it? Thinking and speaking affect everything. And you will want all of those thoughts and words to be in line with what you want to manifest.

I feel like, with so much craziness happening right now after the election and the holidays just around the corner, and with jobs, and families, and trying to keep balanced – that we all need peace, calm, balance, serenity, acceptance and more. So think of how YOU want to send out love, send out peace, send out calm, visualize the world you want to live in, etc. What does it look like? What does it sound like?

Then start doing it whenever and for however long you want to. It could be a quick few seconds that you say to yourself “I send love and peace out into the world now.” Or “I love myself and my neighbors the way we are.” Or maybe you want to say a prayer using prayers of versus from your faith. You can also write out what you want and shred it (you can do this for manifesting but you can also do it to let go of the past and the like as well.)
The possibilities with prayer are endless.

When I think of our world right now and the peace we all need, I see a visualization of our planet earth covered in a beautiful white light with shimmering golds and purples sparking. And within our beautifully covered planet, I see a world full of billions of beautiful people, in harmony – not only helping each other but also accepting and unconditionally loving each other. And I visualize us all holding hands while standing or sitting in a circle that encompasses the globe – saying prayers for peace, for acceptance, and for love.

Lastly, I am seeing that we can also use our natural abilities of automatic writing to come up with beautiful prayers. How to do that: Sit or stand quietly in a room with little noise. Get out a pen/pencil and a piece of paper. Then ask your guides for a beautiful prayer for peace (or joy, or healing, or love, etc. or all of the above.) And then just write whatever comes to you. It will be perfect on its own.

I also have to say that peace is something we can learn to have within ourselves. It isn’t easy to create inner peace but it is possible. I have been meditating for over 100 days straight and it has helped me feel more at peace in general. I get overstimulated energetically very easily and sometimes having loud noises or a lot of people around me, causes me to feel overstimulated and overwhelmed. And meditation has helped me cope with the energy around me, and the like. I was told by a therapist that while I want peace in my life (because I largely don’t) that peace is inside us. -And to work on myself and my inner peace, my inner world instead of trying to change my outer world or the people/world around me.  I can only really change myself. And so while I do suggest things to people and the like, I work the most on me.

9 Ways Cleaning Can Improve Your Life and Your Energy

Have you ever felt [energetically] how a room or house feels right after you cleaned it? It feels fresh, new, open, clean, renewed, and overall – just awesome. We are more motivated to do things, the air is cleaner and things overall are just flowing nicely.

Sometimes spiritually we need to clean and clear clutter to change the energy of our home. Sometimes mentally we are feeling stuck or congested and the way to clear it out is to clean and get organized. And sometimes we get motivated to move more when we have more space to move around in, better air to breathe, etc. And emotionally, we may feel “clearer” about what we want and how we feel when our environment isn’t so dusty and cluttered.

So cleaning has many benefits.

One of the many steps I recommend in an individual’s psychic development is to clean their home and/or room. They can do one room at a time if they want or just clean the entire house all at once. The reason I recommend they do this is because old energy, stagnant energy and sometimes negative or unwanted energy sits in dust and clutter. It makes everything feel stale or unhealthy. And so when we take the time to dust, clean and declutter we are opening up our environment, cleaning and clearing our energy and thus improving how clear we are energetically as well.

Let’s not forget that I also recommend – even in the winter – that we open our windows. Even just for 5-10 minutes here and there to get new air to circulate around the home. When our windows are closed and we aren’t letting any air to circulate, the air too can get cluttered and stale. And that is what we don’t want.

I was told once during acupuncture that if my room wasn’t clean and if it was a mess, dusty and disorganized that in order for me to help lessen my congestion, and be clearer minded (less fogged up with congestion) I needed to clean my room. That weekend, I did and it helped tremendously.

I find a big cleaning (like a spring cleaning) is something we need to do with each change in seasons. We may clean, dust, open windows, maybe rearrange furniture, introduce new scents in our diffusers, dust our natural crystals and rearrange them as well, and more. And then we feel better. This is also a great time to sort out things you don’t need or want. You can have yard sales, set up donations and even toss things that you cannot donate or sell.

And metaphorically, by clearing clutter, you are opening up more room – which opens more energy around you for new things. It is like when you clean out a closet and now you have all this space you didn’t have before that is open for new things, new stuff, etc. The same thing goes for your environment as it does for your energy. The same thing goes for letting go of the past, people, situations and the like (another topic for a separate post) but letting go in this way, opens you up more, and frees your energy for new and better things.

So when you feel the vibe to clean – go for it.

Cleaning can:

  • Improve the flow of energy in your home.
  • Declutter your home and make your living environment feel better and function better
  • A cleaner bedroom may be easier to sleep in
  • Always check Feng Shui for optimal placements of furniture and the like.
  • Dusting clears energy – especially if we open windows. This will allow the old stuck energy to move out and the new clean, clear energy to move in.
  • We can feel mentally and/or emotionally clearer once we clean, dust and/or declutter.
  • We may feel better physically as the environment we live in will have better energy, air and free flowing movement than when it was dusty, cluttered, or stagnant. And you may find your motivation has come back.
  • You may also experience less allergy symptoms if you are allergic to or sensitive to dust.
  • Your mood could improve because your living space has been positively altered. You would be surprised how your environment can alter how you feel.
  • And much more.

Don’t be afraid to let the cleaning vibe take over. Whether it is for a few minutes, a few hours, or an entire weekend – each minute counts. And the work you do cleaning, dusting, decluttering, getting rid of things you don’t use anymore, donating what you can, opening the windows to let new air in and more – all have so many benefits to your body, mind, spirit and emotion. It will be worth it.
